Sansseveria Snake Plant
Sansseveria Snake Plant or laurentii belongs to the family Asparagaceae. This plants works as best air purifier for home. Leaves are erect, fleshy, sharply-pointed, deep green with light gray-green horizontal stripes, an ornamental plant that grows in irregular rosette pattern.
Plant care tips:
- Sunlight: Indirect or partial sun works best for this plant. If completely shaded, the plant can dull and the leaves may become a bit floppy.
- Watering: Water when topsoil (3-4 inches) feels dry to touch. Water thoroughly in the summer and reduce watering in winter and rainy season.
- Soil: Should be well drained and fertile, rich in organic content

- Repotting: When a plant outgrows in current pot, re-pot (one size bigger than current) with fresh potting soil and some fertilizer. After repotting keep the plant in shady area for 2 to 3 days and then move the plant in its suitable climatic condition.
- Propagation method: Cut off a healthy leaf near its base and make an upside-down V cut at the bottom. Then, place the leaf in a clean jar of water. Allow the water level to be slightly above the V cut. Once roots have started to form (3 to 5 weeks), you can keep in water or transfer to soil.
Plant problem & protection:
- Overwatering is the main cause of root rots due to which plant leaves are dropping. In this case cut the rotting root and repot your plant.
- Can easily grow in AC rooms but keep plant away from AC vents.
- Timely remove dead, damage or infected plant parts, spray neem oil or citrus oil as primary treatment for pest/insect attack.
